Helping hands is a group of local volunteers who are working to help those in our village who need assistance with a variety of small jobs. We have been running for over ten years and have helped with 500 – 1500 tasks each year. Villagers of any age may need help from time to time with a variety of tasks. Our volunteers are there to assist if they can.
How it works: We have a designated phone number 07726 592739. Villagers requiring help are invited to call and leave their name and number and a short description of the help they would need. Our phone holder will call them back within 24 hours and let them know what we can provide. Alternatively, you can send an email to the phone holder on phoneholder@robertsbridgehelpinghands.co.uk . Please note that Helping Hands does not provide an emergency service. Here are some of the things we have helped with; transport, shopping, collecting prescriptions, gardening, small jobs [like changing a light bulb] etc, broadband and computer problems. Our volunteers have all been checked by the government Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and will be wearing a helping hands lanyard so you can ask a stranger to help with confidence and soon they’ll no longer be a stranger but a friend.
